Staying in Cornwall
| St. Michael's Mount |
|
St Michaels Mount is a former Benedictine Priory and Castle. It is sited on an island just off the coast of Cornwall, three miles east of Penzance, and is linked to the mainland village Marzion by a causeway, crossable by foot at low tide. From Marzion a Victorian underground railway runs to the top of the hill where the building sits. Amongst the enchanting ancient architecture are sub-tropical hanging gardens.
