Wildlife

If you want to do some wildlife spotting on the sea, take a wildlife watching boat trip from Penzance.  You could see such animals as atlantic grey seals, harbour porpoises, dolphins, whales, basking sharks and ocean sunfish.  Or there's the National Seal Sanctuary set in Helford Estuary, where you can watch rescued seals recover.  There's also the National Lobster Hatchery, where female lobsters, brought to the centre by fishermen, are looked after until they have offspring, who are raised in a protective enviroment until they are old enough to be able to have a chance against natural predators in the sea.  You can watch the marine biologists at work here, as they strive for the managed conservation and stock enhancement of the lobsters.

For more land and air based wildlife, there's Paradise Park in Hayle, where you can see tropical birds, red pandas, native red squirrels and the rare Cornish Chough.  There's also an indoor play centre for children.
